Snowpocalypse! Or not....

We are all bracing for a snow storm that just hasn't made it here yet. I woke up expecting lots of snow. Nope, just the bit that was there from the days before. Kayden's school instituted a 2 hour late start with buses on snow route. It started snowing as we were getting ready to go to the bus. We stood there at said snow route bus stop for 30 minutes. When the bus didn't show, I made an executive decision. No school today for Kayden. I wasn't going to drive him, and really, do I trust the bus driver to drive a bus (without seat belts for the kids) safely on these unplowed roads. No. No I do not. So we came home. 20 minutes later. Phone call from school. Letting kids out 2 hours early today. You know what that means? 2 hours of school. What a waste. Not only for the kids, but for the parents scrambling to figure out what to do with their kids and how to get there, etc. They've already canceled school for tomorrow. We are supposed to get 4-12 inches of snow. How's that for a range? Seattle shuts down in the face of a snow storm. People freak out, have no idea how to drive, get out and leave their cars next to the curb then just slid into and call it good.

At the bus stop today, we watched a man in a car pull over, frantically get out of his car and retrieve his chains from the trunk. We then snickered as he stood there, chains in hand, trying to figure out how to put them on. When just staring at them didn't get the job done, he put them back in the trunk and left. Hilarious! Moral of the story? Don't just buy the chains, learn how to put them on.

Snowpocalypse apparently starts tomorrow. Unless it changes. Again.
